Just as there’s that perfect cannabis strain for chilling by the pool or watching your favorite movie, there’s a strain out there that makes the perfect companion for your next hike. When it comes to climbing mountains with your legs, you’ll want a strain that will have you feeling stimulated and energized.

So, we’ve put together a list of stimulating strains that’ll have you feeling elevated before you get elevated.

Candyland

Primary terpenes: Caryophyllene, limonene, humulene

Cannabinoid profile: THC-dominant (17-22% on average)

Candyland is a cross between Bay Platinum Cookies and Granddaddy Purple. The result is a purple, frosty flower that delivers earthy, sour notes. With Candyland, most people report uplifting effects that make this strain the perfect one to puff on during your next hike.

White Fire OG

Cannabinoid profile: THC-dominant (18-23% on average)

A limonene-dominant cross between Fire OG and The White, White Fire OG offers a mix of sour, earthy, and diesel flavors. This potent strain hits with a powerful high, but for me, it’s uplifting and energetic. I can smoke this and write 87 pages of literary fireballs, go play basketball, or just stare at the sky for hours.

So, if you have a high THC tolerance and want to add a little pep in your hiking step, White Fire OG is an excellent option.

    Evil Roy Slade Forever

    • Ha! Yes indeed. Had that when I was up in Alaska many moons ago and wowza. Have not seen it sold anywhere, is it an actual strain?

Matanuska Tundra aka Alaska Thunderfuck? is that what you’re thinking of? Sagarmartha Seeds out of A-dam offers it.

Limonene is a known muscle relaxant in refereed publications. Strains with high limonene are not going to be great for long hikes for those of us north of 40. Muscle relaxants don’t increase physical energy, they tend to decrease stamina. I can agree with Jack H, strawberry cough, and candyland, those are not high in limonene and are proven energizers. The rest presented here appear to be inferior to strains like green crack, red congolese, jamaican sativas like lambs bread, and others. This topic surely needs more scientific substance, less questionaire data from people who don’t even know what chemotype they are vaping/smoking.

The first stimulating strain to come to mind was green crack. How can you ever get more stimulated than with a strain engendering the namesake crack?
