Often an organization succeeds based upon the performance, knowledge, effort, and wisdom of one or two key individuals. Without these key individual participants, the organization would likely and very simply drift into obscurity along with the hundreds of others. Matt Kovarsky overwhelmingly made Novel Tree the place of choice of hundreds of medical and recreational users in the greater Seattle area. We heard recently that Matt Kovarsky is no longer with Novel Tree as of November, 2023. While his defining contribution will and can never be fully undone, Novel Tree will never be even close to the same store that it was with his presence. Matt Kovarsky was THE SINGULAR REASON we chose Novel Tree for so very many years. Now that we hear that he is gone, we find it quite hard not to look for another dispensary. Matt Kovarsky, you will be sorely, sorely missed! Does anyone know where he has gone?

New favorite dispensary after one visit. Prices were good, staff was very helpful at picking out something that matched my needs, and the atmosphere put me immediately at ease (which is saying something given one of the main reasons I use cannabis is crippling chronic anxiety). Smoking some Pineapple JGR I picked up there the other day and highly recommend it for a mellow and tranquil high with the calming benefits of a 2:1 CBD:THC ratio Also gotta love the pot leaf pride flag out front and the lovely floral mural

I love that this is a locally owned business. The store owner is a very kind sweet person . They are always friendly and willing to help and answer questions when I ask . I am a picky person so it’s nice to go in and look at items and ask questions. Awesome place , it’s my go to dispensary!!!

Absolutely amazing. Great deals, excellent staff. Highly recommend. Negative reviews clearly is someone who doesn’t shop there and just has some kind of personal issue. Been shopping here now for years. By far the best dispensary in the area. Definitely go there. Also, I live right near there and have NEVER seen a houseless individual or anyone other than customers and employees there or in the parking lot.

This is the BEST spot in Portland. For the help, for the “products”, it is all I have wanted/needed for over a decade. Now they have been “bought-out”. This place is AWESOME!! Already the new owners have brought in their products (named after their COMPANY; “Hot Box”). I love when a spot is named like it was named by an eleventeen year old who just smoked for the first time. I will have to find a new spot if they stop getting what they already get, and only supply “their” products. After a decade at this AWESOME spot.. nothing lasts forever. This is my corner spot and I absolutely love them. Every employee is kind and knowledgeable, their products are consistently stellar, and I am disappointed when I go anywhere else.

I love , love, love this place. Visiting from Arizona, and staying with non smokers, I'm very limited on what I can smoke while in Wa. The staff patiently listened to my likes and preferences and my visiting situation, and they got me exactly what I needed. That Hindu Kush you sold me? now I remember why I love this strain so much. It smokes soooOO smooth. Hardly a cough, which means bigger puff on my pipe. And it tastes so unique to only Hindu Kush. It tastes like a real, real, hoppy beer. I rarely drink, but that is what this strain reminds of. It tastes like hopps, in beer. This strain is in my top 5 favorite best. Baking with Hindu Kush is a joy too. And this strain is considered budget. Such a great price for 2 ounces, and such great quality. Oregon really has the best weed in the nation. As always you just want to go where everybody knows your name. My dispensary at the bottom of the hill treats me so well and are always so helpful.
